In demo mode, BeforeChop reads the photo you choose and draws the preview in your browser. The image is not uploaded to BeforeChop, and this MVP has no account system.
A preview count, and any demo unlock you choose, is stored in localStorage under the key beforechop.quota.v1. If this browser still has the earlier hairtry.quota.v1 value, BeforeChop copies it over on the next visit. Clearing site data for this browser removes it. Use Reset free looks in the footer to start the free allowance over.
When the server has a Fal key, a try-on sends the selfie to Fal's hair-change model. The key stays on the server, and BeforeChop does not keep the photo. With no key, demo mode never uploads the image.
